I just got back from Paris, where I gave my first in-person seminar since the beginning of the pandemic! It was so exciting to meet and talk to the researchers at ESPCI and La Sorbonne, many of them working on fish locomotion and collective behavior. I'm also particularly intrigued by their "origami" work as it reminds of the trick skates use to increase the stiffness of their fins without adding mass --> they create a notch! I hope to be back soon!
